Baby Vinny

It has been a few days since i have really felt like scrapping anything with all of the excitemnet from the holidays and the new baby. So tonight after visiting with Becca and the baby I decided to sit down and fiddle around a little bit. I used Kristin Cronin-Barrow's "Sweet Dreams" and Penny Springmann's "Worn Overlay's" also using one of the templates from the Sweet Shoppe's "Cookie Exchange"

If all stays the way its going now, mommy and baby will be coming home tommorrow! Yeah!!

My Nephew has Arrived!!!

Well after several weeks of multiple false labors two trys at induction (both times they tried to induce her cervix just was not ready) last night my sister went in for another try of the Cervidil and started having contractions like mad at 3:30 this morning they let her go till about 5:30 and still no progress and the contrations were extremely hard so her Dr. had them give her something to slow down the contractions and by 5:45 she was on her way to the OR for a C-section the little guy was too big to handle the contractions any longer and she was in so much pain. It turns out she was very close to rupturing her uterus but she didnt and all went well and at 6:19 this morning we welcomed out newest addition to the family my beautiful nephew

Vincent Michael Marinacci
born December 29, 2008
8lbs 6oz 21 1/2 inches long

he was on oxygen all day because he had some fluid on the lungs but at about 9:15 this evening all the oxygen come off and mom was holding him and feeding him for the first time.

Where has time gone?

I don't know where the month of December has gone. I started out this holiday season optimistic that I would get my decorating done and my shopping and maybe bake some cookies with the kids, but no! Life had another direction for me to go. Of course the first week in December my youngest got sick and when he gets sick well, its always bad! by the next week he was admitted to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh and we spent almost a week there. After he was discharged we had to follow up with his pediatrician and guess what he was still sick but now with a stomach flu, ear infection and sinus infection. Needles to say it is now three days before Christmas and tomorrow morning he sees the Dr. Again He seems like he is doing better but he is still throwing up a lot. of course somewhere amidst all of this my husband and I both ended up sick for a week and well, no cookies, I just finished shopping and not too much else has been done this season. I had so many ideas to make some fabulous gifts for everyone but sadly they will not be done in time. So please forgive me. I did sit down a little this evening and scrapbook a little. Penny Springmann has an amazing new kit out called "Sunny Cheer"

Of course its cold here in Western PA so I had to get a little creative and played on having the warmth of the season in your hearts. So here is my LO using "Sunny Cheer" I also used a template from the "Cookie Exchange" at the Sweet Shoppe

Well I hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday Season and remember its not the gifts we buy or the cookies we bake that are important, its whats inside our hearts that counts. I am so thankfull this year for my family with out them my life would not be complete.

Traditions and a New Release

Every year I get my kiddos a new special ornament for on the tree. Something that either they pick out or I pick out for them based on what they are in too or something like that. This year I picked them out while I was Christmas shopping. They are these adorable little mice, one is on a Swiss army knife and the other sailing a boat made out of odds and ends. My latest scrap booking page tells all about them check it out:

I know I have a thing for the ornament pages but are those worn overlays amazing! So here are the products I used on it

This is Penny's newest kit " Cocoa Mallow Stick" and can be found at either Penn's Miscellany of the Sweet Shoppe

I also used these fabulous worn photo holiday overlays by Penny

So that's about it for today. I hope you enjoy your traditions as much as I do mine.

My Cocoa Tin

So another thing that I am envious of my fellow digi scrappers is their amazing hybrid projects. I mean WOW! So much talent! So tonight while I was sitting around while the rest of the house napped I decided to play around a bit. I took a tin and covered it with sticker paper that I digi scrapped and made myself a little cocoa tin. SO here is what we have

and here is the top view

turned out kind of cute. So now that I have the general idea I will have to try and get really creative. I used this kit here

by Jady Day Studio (available at Polka Dot Potato)

So not too much more exciting today. My oldest went hunting for his first year of deer hunting but no Bucks only a Doe. So hopefully he has better luck tommorrow.
