Cupcakes! Epic Fail! (maybe)

I don't understand why I feel the need to complicate everything! Never was I taught that normal wasn't good enough but for some reason I feel that I have to go out of my way to make things extra special. Usually ending in either something fabulous or an absolute mess (most of the time both!) Nate has a bake sale tomorrow for baseball and I wanted to make him something awesome! I had seen these cute cupcakes in a jar online and though hey that's cool. So I set out to make these cool cakes! First of all I swear it is the hottest day of the summer by far so who in their right mind wants to bake. So I wait until it cools off a little this evening you know like around 9 to start these things. First I find that the cake mix I bought was funfetti so it had sprinkles in it....crap! That's not what I wanted at all! So I stuck the cake mix in the sifter and removes said sprinkles. OK cakes are baked! Now they need to cool..ok...I got that! I need my icing bags and tips I will go and find those....yeah good luck with that. I ended up after about an hour of looking high and low going to moms (its now almost midnight) for her coupler. I found a tip here that would do. OK back home, cakes are cool lets cut them out and put them together. Uh huh good idea unless the icing is just pouring out of the bag. So we stick the bag in the fridge and wait. Eventually this is what I came up with.

Oh wait that was my mess! Oops. Here they are...kind of cute huh? So now I put the lids on......to plain! So I tie on a bow and whip out my silhouette machine (thanks mom) and cut out some stars! Sadly I only ended up with 8 jars. I just didn't have the time to try my hand at round 2. But hey 8 is better than 0 right?

So if your out and about stop by Foodland between 10 and 6 and help support the Senior League Boys go to the State Championships!

Guess what?!?

I actually scrapped! I know right! You guys probably thought I forgot how. Well you see I decided a few weeks ago to leave the Creative Teams that I was on and concentrate on scrapping for myself. Its been a while since I didn't have to worry about deadlines and was able to just relax and enjoy scrapping. Don't get me wrong I loved it, I just got too busy with other things to be able to do both. So now maybe I will actually get to use some of the million kits I have! Anyway here is my latest page.

Hopefully I will be back soon with another new one. Check back often!

Memorial Day 2011

Today Nathan marched in Kittanning's Memorial Day parade. It was so super hot out there! For those of you who did not make it downtown today I got a few pictures.
Here comes the Kittanning Senior High Marching Band! They played "Patriotic Parade Sequence"

and here is the beautiful Miss Sara Toy from the Dance team

I was trying to find Nate but I just kept looking past him! (If you look carefully you can see him in this picture. He is the one with the sunglasses on.)

I finally found him as he was walking away from us! LOL Oh well I thought about telling them they had to go back and do it again because I needed a picture but didnt think they would appreciate it much!

And then it was over.

On a serious note though, I would like to say a special thank you to all of those who risk their lives to protect our freedom, and to those who have given their lives for our country. THANK YOU!

Ukrainian Eggs take 2

So here we have this years Ukrainian Eggs. I think we all did even better the second time around.
Jess's are first. She did have one more, but the colors ran all off when we tried to varnish it. Bummer! But check out the beautiful detail in these things! Awesome job Jess!! Next up are Gina's Again hers are AMAZING! I love the colors in these!

and then there are mine. So I'm not as artsy as others but I kind of like them. Maybe next time I will experiment with different colors....just sayin! LOL

These where a lot of fun to make. I hope we all get to do them again real soon. Next time hopefully Aunt Kimber can play too!!

Ukrainian Eggs Take 1

Going threw some old picture CD's I found our very first attempts at Ukrainian Easter Eggs. I thought everyone would enjoy seeing their masterpieces.

First up is Kim. I love the Indian feel of this first one

And of course it wouldn't be Kim's if it wasn't some type of turquoise blue. Love the argyle and butterflies
Next up is me. I'm not sure what I was thinking with the brown outer color, but I kind of like it.

But I like this one a little bit better. Kind of has the whole poinsettia thing going on with it.

Now for Jessica's for the girl who cant remember even doing them it looks awesome! Especially for only being like 13 years old.

Then there is Gina's. She is such a show off (just kidding beans!) but hey she has done this before so she has one up on us. I love it!

And there you go! From the March 11, 2007 archives!
